I was/am really sick. I also got chris really sick when he was trying to take care of me. Therefore, I think I'm a leading authority on how to deal with sickness. They invited me to do a peice on it on Fox news, but I said, 'no, I don't feel well enough.'
When you are sick you NEED:

Bubble Bath (the white hypo-allergenic Mr. Bubble kind)

Crayola Bath colors

Bath Salts

Slippers, shaped like something uplifting

Movies. Lots of movies.

noodle foods (pad thai, mac and cheese, etc.)

Sorbet, not ice cream

a computer

a kitten

Pj pants

Note: Baths are VERY essential to being sick. I'd say light a candle beside them, but I won't because that's how main characters in Lifetime Movies relax.
Also Note: You do NOT need a bra when you are sick.

Meat Market!

 Meat Market!
Originally uploaded by mag wildwood
I'm just looking back at older pictures I've taken and I really liked this one.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_1PC-87GDEVw/R4JM4Thz_GI/AAAAAAAAAEc/hWpIhhMCxGE/s320/0107080944.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5152765453863746658" />
How did I end up in the Pj's on camp street for hours with every OSU fan that came to New Orleans? He insists on naming it Shade, which I think sounds like a vampire name, not a cat name. I wish she were named All Ball, like Koko the gorilla's first cat. All Ball was a Manx that Koko picked from a litter of strays, he groomed her and slept with her. When All Ball escaped and got hit by a car, Koko is said to have cried for 2 days. This was one of the first documented events of an animal expressing human emotion. Even more surprising:

When asked, "Do you want to talk about your kitty?"
Koko signed, "Cry."
"What happened to your kitty?"
Koko answered, "Sleep cat."
When she saw a picture of a cat who looked very much like All Ball, Koko pointed to the picture and signed, "Cry, sad, frown."

Anthony: Would you like a glass of Liebfraumilch?
Lesly: No thank you. type='text'>

Besides the saying "Pet Peeve", I hate nothing more than tattoos, jewelry, clothing, etc. that says something on it in a different language, namely Chinese. Actually, I would probably call it my "pet peeve", if I was okay with saying "pet peeve". Mind you I don't mean REAL foreign products. I'm referring to when people get Chinese characters tattooed on their bodies, with out being Chinese, and things of that nature. Much like my hatred for tribal tattoos.

I've found something that breaks my rule. I absolutely love this necklace from Me & Ro.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1PC-87GDEVw/RlUqAdt-q7I/AAAAAAAAACo/MkeJNrFzadc/s320/fearlessbg.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068003143141206962" />

Here comes the embarrassing part. I saw it on Jennifer Garner in 'Catch and Release'. Which my sister decided to get on Netflix. Apparently Netflix bullied her into by constantly putting it in its 'suggestion column'. I'm still not buying that. Regardless, I actaully thought it was a wonderful movie. Really. I'm not going to carry it around in a see through purse, but I will admit I liked it.

Really, though. Pet Peeve? Watermelons. Since I've been known to polish off a whole one in one day, I thouhgt I should maybe learn about them.
The watermelon, originally discovered by Dr. David Livingstone (yes, as in, 'Dr. Livingstone, I presume') during his hikes in the african jungle, is actually not a melon at all. The watermelon is both fruit and vegetable, much like a tomato. The fleshy part inside which is eaten...its highly developed placental tissue. That's right. The watermelon is technically an egg produced by the ovary of the flowering vine known as the citrillus vulgaris (common citrus). Gross.
Tutankahmun was dicovered with many watermelon seeds in his tomb. The watermelon also takes the shape of what it is grown in, so in other countries they often have square watermelons.

Watermelon muffins?

Recipe for a 'fuzzy watermelon'.

YUM.Watermelon time-lapse.

Whole Foods watermelon agua fresca.

I'm a mess. Great idea- one catch.
It's spearamint flavored.
To me that means if my breath was bad enough I'd probably taken the hit and eat a bunch of birthcontrol pills. An easy date, one might say? So, I'm in the wine mood, and I found this atCHOW.
The wine loft is where we got toasted, and may I say- classy joint. It's been mentioned in Maxim, New York Times, and so many more, but we were getting tipsy so I can't remember. They have a small menu of food which includes Crab and corn bisqu as well as chocolate fondue. Chris LOVES bisque and we have both voiced a strong desire for fondue, so I think we'll be going back soon.
According to Nicole Stillwell all tables are 'resserved at all times' and bouncers, which are actually just suited men, come around and ask the better looking girls, "where would you like to sit?"
Seems a little ridiculous to me, but as long as I'm asked where to sit, I'm okay with that.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_1PC-87GDEVw/RiUcw-s7KJI/AAAAAAAAACA/I34i7diypgU/s200/B000KF0DF2.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_SS500_.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5054477784583973010" />
Bishop Allen, the best band in the world has now taken my love for them a step further with two seemingly hilarious movies (I've yet to see them) Funny Ha Ha and Mutual Appreciation. Putting it on my blog will give me an excuse to eat all of the 11 cent easter left overs from walgreens!
Back to real food, my favorite things are:
-My meal at kirby lane was a stuffed pablano pepper that was battered and fried after it was stuffed. I had never seen that. It came with these little silver dollar corn cakes that were probably the best thing I had ever tasted.
-Oatscreme was a vegan ice cream from Dhaba Joy (I ended up taking home several vegan baked goods from there). They only had vanilla because apparently the guy who makes chocolate was flighty. A man who makes ice cream out of oat meal is a bit off? Go figure!
- The peanut vegetables at Rama in Baton Rouge were maye the best Thai food I had ever tasted. Too bad Chris was sincerely underwhelmed by this beef something or other.
- The mediterranian couscous at Chelsea's AND the fried green tomatoes are really wonderful. How do you make batter for green tomatoes?
-Nothing is better than a fried pickle done right. Pluckers, a fried chicken restaurant, really screws them up, as did the 'original fried pickle' place at seaside. Times bar and Grill fries a mean pickle.
- Roti. It's like naan had a bread baby with pita.
-Home made falaffel. The mixes I've used just don't taste right.
-Samosas! with tamarind!
I didn't write this running tally of my favorite restaurants down because I'm a fatty. I wrote it down because I want to figure out how to make each one of these things at home. Notice I really like fried things.
I need a recipie for all of these things!

The Blog Edition!

I check the blogs I like obssesively, and often post about what I found on them, so here are the blogs I think everyone should read daily (or 15 times daily, like me).

Not Martha is my favorite blog because it was my first blog. I own both and have never attempted piano (aside from the knuckle sypmphony and a couple compositions of my own). I have, on the other hand attempted guitar, and I failed miserably. The first song I learned to play was 'Our God is an awesome God.' He didn't give me a hand, even in praise, so that makes me think God doesn't want me playing the guitar. Hopefully he has no qualms with me trying to tickle the ivories?
If I had a mustache I would've just wiggled it. I'm a lady, though.
Yeah, the guitar is out. I just remembered all my embarrassing run-ins with guitar hero.

Chris and I leave for Austin on a Greyhound Bus on Thursday! How exciting! We're going to the JANE magazine party on friday, and seeing Puppetmastaz (a puppet hip-hop group from berlin) sometime.

I have been completely drained of personality because I've been reading a Renewable Resources textbook for hours on end. I can't see a real person in 4-D, why would I want to see a baby? Maybe IMAX should start franchising to Gynocologists. Really dumb humor I find on youtube. My roommate found Brad Neely. His words smell like flowers, and he makes me appreciate the presidents of the past. It was beautiful. I was standing outside of the room, unprepared, and all of a sudden I couldn't see inside anymore. All the people disappeared and all I saw was rainbow colored movement. It was somewhat like being on the inside of a car during a car wash. The kind with rainbow foam.

I often see people reading books and I think that they may not actually be reading them. Books that look so boring, or over the reader's head that they've realized how much they hate the book but are too embarrased to put it down. They're counting the minutes in their minds until it looks like they've read enough for the time being and will finish it later. They won't finish it later, they'll just put it on their book shelf for everyone to see.

The blog I found today, Treats & Treasures is mind blowingly perfect. The blogger, who is from the Netherlands actually takes pictures of her journal and posts them. I love her journal. It reminds me of what I hope mine someday looks like, but for now I don't have the time or the talent.

Enviga, my drink of choice, is under fire. I'm still drinking it, regardelss of what is said. Even if it doesn't burn calories it still tastes good, has EGCG and caffine, as well as minimal calories. It's way better for me than diet coke. I don't drink soft drinks anymore, and Enviga gives me the feeling that I do.

Back in the room I realize how many projects I have going/ need to start
-Firstly I want to make chris a Hobbes doll, in the form that other people see Hobbes. He certainly has a little Calvin in him.
-I want to make reusable shopping bags. Paper and plastic are so bad for the enviroment, and I also want to see how much of a loser I can be.
- My Halloween costume which will probably take eons to make. I want to be one of those dolls straight out of my childhood, where they wear a big hat and skirt, and when you flip the skirt they're a cup cake. Doesn't make sense? Here. Some freaky person actually still has a million.
- Making a vintage-looking apron for a swap-bot swap.
- Making a recipie card box with hand made recipie cards, for swap-bot
- I want to try to make a margarite cupcake. That sounds so good. Sometimes I make a cake and drink, and It gets me sick. Combining both make eradicate this problem.
-A short film about cupcakes. Sounds strange, but I think it would be amazing.

Currently the two things I really REALLY want are an old library card catalog (wouldn't it make great drawers?) Stories of something I over heard said, or saw. Alot of the time the things I see and hear are quite outrageous. I don't know why I see so many wackos a day, but I do. Alot of people probably think I exaggerate, but I swear, I could write a book at the end of each day. My life reads like page of Overheard in New York.
Today I observed an Asian exchange student in the Restroom of my french building brushing her teeth. Welcome to America, we tend to do that AT HOME. I guess it wouldn't have been a huge problem if she hadn't brushed for 6 minutes straight. I wasted time in the stall just to see how long the chk-chk sound continued. I gave up after 6 minutes, knowing I'd be late for class, but she was still at it when I left.
I'm growing sure that most people brush their teeth more often than I do. Hope I don't have the halitosis. Christopher brushes his teeth both at night and in the morning. I only brush my teeth in the morning. As a child I would rub fabric across my teeth to get the 'sweaters' off of them. You know, when teeth wear sweaters? Anyway, I never got any cavities, so I was convinced I had developed a really effective means of dental care. I now know that isn't true, but part of me still thinks I've outwitted the ADA.
In the hall on the way to history I saw a girl in the hall on her cell phone her conversation went like this:
Girl:"Well, I'm pretty sure she's poor"
Imagined other end of the conversation: "How do you know?"
Girl: "Because she has a part time job!"
Other End:" Are you KIDDING? Who DOES THAT?"
Girl: "I know, and she wears fake glasses!"
Other End: "Well that secures it, she's not coming to the wine and cheese party. We can't do that to the other guests"
Girl:" It just wouldn't be fair."
* Remember, only one side of this conversation was real, I made up the rest in my head*

Laser Cats!

There was a new Laser Cats on SNL Saturday. It was just as good as the first one. Things like that make me wish I had thought of them first. They also make me wish I had Andy Samberg's brain. That thing is a gold factory. Solid gold.

Tonight is the first episode of the season of The Girls Next Door and Kathryn and I are bracing ourselves for that. While I wait I'm doing my online french homework. The program is called Quia. Learning another language is always strange. I remember one french book I had some time ago specified that you must capitalize all forms of the word 'Satan'- including 'Evil Prince'.
Wouldn't want to mess that one up. What if I went to France and wrote across a shirt something along the lines of 'I worship the evil prince' and forgot to capitalize 'evil prince'? How embarrassing would that be? I'd look like such an amateur.

This is a really good idea for drying pasta that I found. Of course I'd only do that if I made pasta enough and had a house of my own. Otherwise I'm a fan of the broom stick method that my father perfected.
On Saturday morning my mother and I hit both St. Tammany farmer's market about as hard as you can hit a farmer's market. I walked away with some good stuff, as well as some really bad muffaletta filling. It's really hard when my mom asks me IN FRONT of the person who made the food if it's good. Of course I'm going to lie in front of the little old lady who didn't let her olives and cauliflower pickle long enough. It tastes like an oily muffaletta stir-fry. We got some Aioli, which I need to learn to make, as well as a tamale. Really good. The side of the pot said they were selling both bean and 'chesse' tamales. I would have gotten the 'chesse' tamale, but I don't know what 'chesse' is. It may not be vegan.
Saturday night was Chris and my date. We had alot of fun, in my opinion. Dinner was great (I got a salad and carrots, chris got tenderloin tips) and then we walked for a while. A fast talking woman made off with $20, because she took chris by surprise. It was horrible. He's very generous with money. She told him she knew where he 'got them shoes.' Classic.

Bitch, what?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_1PC-87GDEVw/RekkansmAHI/AAAAAAAAABQ/Eyvq7dTC3Ac/s320/DSC02199.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5037597697941831794" />
Some very good candy I sent out to my swap partner. Thought I'd post it because I was pretty proud. That's a candy burger AND candy french fries WITH candy ketchup. I know. Awesome. Walgreens has some great stuff. What other store has every type of imaginable food made of marshmellow? Also, it's always a super time shopping there because someone in line usually has something awkward. Like an enema. The only thing more awkward than watching someone purchase an enema is probably watching someone use one. Well, I'd like to say it's because I voice my opinion, but that sounds like something you'd say on a Real World audition tape. It also sounds like a cop-out. The truth probably is that I can't really figure out what's appropriate to say and what's not. Apparently it isn't okay to say, "Oh! You only have one arm! What's that about?"
Also, it's not cool to say, "Why did you decide to dye your hair purple?."
Usually the response will be that it wasn't SUPPOSED to be purple.
Well, how do you make a new year's resolution to be less socially awkward? First of all it's really a hard habit to break, secondly it's March. It's really hard to make a new year's resolution in march.

So I resign to having enemies, and I will now clearly define who they are/ may be:

+The girl in my hall who never says 'hi' or smiles. Ok, I get it, you have really pretty hair and a well faked tan, but you are not above a simple 'hi'. It's really bitchy when you glare.
+The girl in my hall who microwaves fish. I suspect you are the girl with the pretty hair. Omega-3.
+The girl who microwaves something sweet smelling after the fish girl. It smells like maple-fish oatmeal.
+The waitress in that Olive Garden commercial that says 'Mondays are good!' No- they are not.
+People who use the phrase 'case of the mondays'
+People who are androgynous and it's their own fault. Being unfortunate looking is one thing. Trying to confuse me is another.
+Anyone in or excitedly talking about a 'Battle of the Bands'
+Girls who wear jeans and skirts/dresses at the same time. If it's too cold for a skirt wear jeans. If it's warm, wear a skirt. It's not hard to figure out, you know.
