Mainly my favorite thing in the world is food.
Making it.
Eating it.
Giving it to other people.
Now that easter is over I think it would be a prime oppurtunity to taste every chocolate I can get my hands on and rate them. Putting it on my blog will give me an excuse to eat all of the 11 cent easter left overs from walgreens!
Back to real food, my favorite things are:
-My meal at kirby lane was a stuffed pablano pepper that was battered and fried after it was stuffed. I had never seen that. It came with these little silver dollar corn cakes that were probably the best thing I had ever tasted.
-Oatscreme was a vegan ice cream from Dhaba Joy (I ended up taking home several vegan baked goods from there). They only had vanilla because apparently the guy who makes chocolate was flighty. A man who makes ice cream out of oat meal is a bit off? Go figure!
- The peanut vegetables at Rama in Baton Rouge were maye the best Thai food I had ever tasted. Too bad Chris was sincerely underwhelmed by this beef something or other.
- The mediterranian couscous at Chelsea's AND the fried green tomatoes are really wonderful. How do you make batter for green tomatoes?
-Nothing is better than a fried pickle done right. Pluckers, a fried chicken restaurant, really screws them up, as did the 'original fried pickle' place at seaside. Times bar and Grill fries a mean pickle.
- Roti. It's like naan had a bread baby with pita.
-Home made falaffel. The mixes I've used just don't taste right.
-Samosas! with tamarind!
I didn't write this running tally of my favorite restaurants down because I'm a fatty. I wrote it down because I want to figure out how to make each one of these things at home. Notice I really like fried things.
I need a recipie for all of these things!
